The cycle of missionary life continues in March. We said goodbye to 15 mature, seasoned missionaries. We thank them for their many sacrifices and great service!

Hermanas Grunbichler, Vance, Bashaw, Wright |
It was hard to part with them because they were dearly loved. It is a bittersweet time for those who leave.
|
Elders Layton, Moore, Adcock, Jensen, Peterson, Newman |
They are happy about going home, but sad about leaving the mission life in Spain.

We happily welcome eight new missionaries to the Barcelona Mission. They are eager to learn and to serve! They will come to appreciate and love Spain and its people.

A nice luncheon is served afterwards. The new missionaries receive training and instruction and typically spend at least one night in the mission home.

The day after they arrive, the missionaries are assigned to their companions and the areas in which they will serve. Then, they are ready to begin the grand adventure of the life of a missionary.

Elder Acosta |

Hermana Lugo |
There are 12 senior couples also serving in the Barcelona Mission.
This past month they were privileged to attend a senior retreat and conference in Ibiza.
Ibiza is an island in the Mediterranean Sea, and has beautiful beaches and quaint villages.

Hermanas Hill, Mason, Smith |
The senior couples provide a variety of services in the mission, such as: member and leadership support, missionary health, young single adult teaching and activities, office staff, and digitizing records.
Hermana Galli has been teaching us that the principles of patience and persistence can weaken or strengthen conversion.
|
Elder Arévalo |
Through the gospel, the Lord offers us the very best gifts possible: eternal life with our loved ones, a Christlike character, and even all the Father has.
|
Hermanas Larimer, Tanner, Richardson |
|
Hermana Dimon |
We would love to leave the mission having overcome all our weaknesses, understanding the gospel, knowing how to work diligently, and always having the spirit.
Most missionaries make amazing progress in these areas.
It can be difficult to return to "normal" life and realize that we still have a long ways to go.
|
Hermana Holmgren |
It may also be difficult for our recent converts to realize that, after baptism, they still struggle with life.
|
Elder McNally
|
We can help them and ourselves by remembering that to continue deepening our conversion, we need patience and persistence.
|
Elders Arévalo and Quevedo |
.
Remember saints who exercised patience and persistence: Mary, the mother of Jesus, Moses, Hannah and Joseph Smith.
|
Elders Acosta and Donahey |
Focus patiently on the tasks at hand. All things will come in their own time.
Persist in doing what is right. Stay on the covenant path. We keep working, trying and repenting.
Beware of distractions. The world offers distractions in the form of pornography, illicit drugs and alcohol, as well as other substances that are not good for our bodies.
Time wasted on our digital media can pull us from the present moment.

Elders Phillips and McNally |
Don´t wait to enjoy life.
We love to see hardworking missionaries get creative, laugh and enjoy life.
|
Elders Harris and Richardson |
President Galli says, ¨"we can work hard and play hard!" This practice helps refresh us spiritually, and gives us the energy to continue.
|
Hermana Nelson |
Celebrate progress.
Sometimes we need to take a look back at our life to realize the spiritual distance we have already covered.
|
Hermanas Dimon and Yurkiv |
Regardless, The Lord is patient and is persistent with us.

Doctrine and Covenants 64:33, "Be not weary in well-doing for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of small things proceedeth that which is great."

|
Hermanas Lugo and Yurk |
Hermana Galli continues, "Patience and persistence are humble virtues, but key to maintaining and deepening our conversion to the Lord and His gospel."
