WE HAVE BEEN TAUGHT

February Zone Conferences were spiritual feasts!  We enjoyed good food, great company, and inspiring messages.  We were taught well by President and Sister Galli, and by the missionaries.

A Couruña missionaries prepared empanadas for zone conference!

Elders Lowry and Holland
Sister Galli reminded us of the inspiring missionary stories from the scriptures.  We discussed the great examples of Paul, Peter, Amulek, and Alma the Younger.

Elders Clarke and Woodfield

We learned about how we can develop hope and power from missionary scripture stories.  The Lord prepared all of these missionaries, and all of the missionaries serving in Spain.

We have all had "angels", or people, to help mold and shape our lives.  We learned that the Lord does not leave us desolate.  We feel the Savior´s love for us, and we are strengthened.

Elder Soelberg and Elder Burgos

President Gall taught about the process of conversion.  The aspects of dedicated commitment are refined appearance and actions, being obedient, work and effort.

Concilio

He also taught that it is important to be authentic, sincere, natural, our best self, use our talents, be creative and adapt to personal situations.  He taught us that we must pour out our souls in prayer and not lose heart.  Alma 37:46 teaches us, ¨do not be slothful because of the easiness of the way."

We have also focused on cleanliness in all of our zone conferences this month.  Our pisos need to be clean so that we can have peace, order, and feel the spirit in our lives.

We are taught that the Lord gave Adam and Eve stewardship over the earth.  While still in the garden, he instructed them to "dress and keep it."  The Lord requires this of us today as he did then.  We are expected to care for and beautify whatever space we occupy on this earth.

Some practical suggestions for keeping a clean piso are:  have a weekly cleaning day, divide assignments so that everyone has responsibility.  Throw away clutter that is not being used.  Hang up damp towels and clothes to dry.

Take out the garbage regularly.  After cooking and eating, wash the dishes.  Make your bed, pick up your clothes and put them in a hamper.

Don´t leave food out on the counter tops, it attracts flies and cockroaches.  Keep all food in sealed bags and wash off counter tops and sweep floors.  Wash your sheets weekly.

President Howard W. Hunter taught that "frequently it is the commonplace tasks that have the greatest positive effect on the lives of others, as compared with the things that the world so often relates to greatness."

The structure of the mission field habits of order save time, energy, and frustration.  Future spouses and families will be blessed by these patterns of living

If we can take pride in the special gifts we have been given by keeping them clean and orderly whether it be our temples, our bodies and minds, or our pisos, we will be blessed for our efforts.
